Art and photography are powerful methods of conveying a message. Every year Break These Chains Live Free™ hosts an art and photography competition for Nevada high school students in Clark and Nye counties. The "Human Trafficking: The Ugly Truth" competitions encourage students to visualize the horrors of human trafficking - modern day slavery.
There are two categories of competitions: Freshman/Sophmore and Junior/Senior. Submissions are judged by professional artists and photographers, gallery owners, marketing professionals and retired art/photography teachers. Each category has multiple prize winners. Students receive monetary awards, recognition at a public awards ceremony and their art or photographs are displayed at anti-trafficking events in Nevada and California.
